Led by the Saint-Martin Center for Excellence and Education through Sport, this new Saint-Martin event offers courses for all levels on Galion Beach. Registration is now open for the first edition of the Sporty Challenge, taking place on the morning of Sunday, September 27.

Inspiring a love for sports, whatever your goal: that is the aim of the Sporty Challenge Saint-Martin, which will take place on Sunday, September 27, at the Galion site. This first edition is part of the European Week of Sport, an initiative led by the European Commission and held annually from September 23 to 30. Through the #BeActive campaign, this initiative encourages everyone to engage in physical and sporting activities, regardless of age, background, or fitness level.

Empowering young girls and helping them thrive in their sport is the core mission of the Women’s Basketball Training Center (CEFB). Established by the Northern Islands Territorial Basketball Committee (CTBIN) in partnership with the Center for Excellence and Education through Sport (CEES), this new program will welcome 18 middle schoolers and 3 high schoolers at the start of the next school year. Much like the Territorial Sports Centers (CST), the CEFB aims to help promising young athletes improve their skills while maintaining their academic progress and fostering independence and civic responsibility. Its unique feature: an all-female cohort.

Leading by example is the guiding principle that the 60 student-athletes of the Territorial Sports Centers (CST) will be expected to follow in the coming year. As the new school year approaches, the Center for Excellence and Education through Sport (CEES) is hosting an orientation week from August 24 to 28. An introductory meeting was held this Monday morning at Soualiga Middle School in La Savane. Attended by CEES Director General Charles-Henry Palvair and President Marc-Gerald Ménard, this session aimed to outline how the program works and define the year's objectives, while fostering dialogue with families regarding key challenges they will face, such as sleep, nutrition, and mobile phone usage.

On Saturday, June 27, the Center of Excellence and Education through Sport (CEES) celebrated young Saint-Martin athletes who distinguished themselves throughout the year at the "Rising Talents" ceremony held at the Grand Case Beach Club. In the presence of CEES Board President Marc Gérald Ménard, Acting Vice-Rector Fanny Giausseran, and Prefect Cyrille Le Vély, 18 student-athletes were honored for their achievements based on three criteria: academic excellence, athletic excellence, and civic excellence.

First launched last year, the "Rising Talents" ceremony of the Center of Excellence through Education and Sport (CEES) recognizes young athletes. The second edition took place last Friday at the Grand Case Beach Club, beautifully concluding the sports season. 71 athletes – 15 girls and 56 boys – are supported by the CEES within the Territorial Sports Centers, which bring together young student-athletes, the National Education system, and sports organizations to assist them in their development. While all participants were in the spotlight across nine categories for the first edition, this year's event was held in a more restricted format. This choice was justified by CEES director, Charles-Henri Palvair, to reward the most deserving individuals – those who distinguished themselves through their academic, athletic, and civic excellence.

Le Centre d’excellence et d’éducation par le sport (CEES) a organisé, samedi 27 juin au Grand Case Beach Club, la deuxième édition de sa cérémonie « Rising Talents ». L’objectif : récompenser les élèves-athlètes qui se sont distingués tout au long de l’année sur les plans scolaire, sportif et citoyen. Vingt-cinq distinctions ont été remises à 19 jeunes issus des sept disciplines du CEES, qui accompagne aujourd’hui 71 élèves-athlètes. Le prix le plus attendu, celui de « major de promotion 2025-2026 », a été décerné au jeune cycliste Ashtan Benitez. Déjà récompensé pour ses résultats académiques, son comportement et ses performances sportives (vice-champion de la Caraïbe en U17 et champion de Guadeloupe U17), il a été salué pour son excellence dans les trois domaines.

Excellence scolaire, performances sportives et engagement citoyen : le CEES de Saint-Martin a récompensé samedi 19 élèves-athlètes qui se sont illustrés tout au long de l'année. Une édition marquée par le triplé du jeune cycliste Ashtan Benitez, major de la promotion.‍C'est dans la salle de conférence du Grand Case Beach Club que se déroulait, ce samedi 27 juin, la deuxième cérémonie des Rising Talents du Centre d'Excellence et d'Éducation par le Sport de Saint-Martin (CEES). Une audience volontairement restreinte comparé à l'an dernier, pour n'accueillir que «la crème de la crème» des élèves-athlètes qui se sont démarqués cette année par leurs qualités académiques, sportives et citoyennes. «Un choix qui met à l'honneur celles et ceux qui ont compris le sens profond de notre démarche vers l'excellence», a précisé Marc G. Ménard, élu au sport à la Collectivité.

The Center for Excellence and Education through Sport (CEES) is holding an information meeting on Saturday, June 20th at 5 PM at the Grand Case Beach Club to present the Territorial Sports Centers (CSTs) to prospective students and their families ahead of the September school year.This meeting will provide an opportunity to learn about how this program works, its organizational structure, and the opportunities it offers to young athletes in the region. The CSTs are one of the pillars of the sports policy of the Collectivity of Saint-Martin. Implemented in partnership with local leagues, committees, and sports clubs, as well as with the National Education services, they are based on a triple objective: athletic, academic, and socio-educational.
