CEES student-athletes begin their orientation week

Leading by example is the guiding principle that the 60 student-athletes of the Territorial Sports Centers (CST) will be expected to follow in the coming year. As the new school year approaches, the Center for Excellence and Education through Sport (CEES) is hosting an orientation week from August 24 to 28. An introductory meeting was held this Monday morning at Soualiga Middle School in La Savane. Attended by CEES Director General Charles-Henry Palvair and President Marc-Gerald Ménard, this session aimed to outline how the program works and define the year's objectives, while fostering dialogue with families regarding key challenges they will face, such as sleep, nutrition, and mobile phone usage.

The remainder of the orientation week aims to establish a shared framework, strengthen cohesion, and support student-athletes across the three pillars of their development: academic, athletic, and civic. From 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the children's mornings will be dedicated to "academic" workshops. Whether it is injury prevention, mental preparation, personal development, or communication and media relations, the goal is to help them acquire knowledge and skills related to sports. This orientation week will conclude on Friday with a CST Challenge, focused on team building and team spirit.

Baseball makes its debut

Supported by the Collectivity, the CEES aims to identify, support, and develop local talent, whether they are pursuing a career in sports or in sports-related professions. Operating within both a Caribbean and national framework, it helps build a balanced path based on the synergy between academic goals, athletic ambition, and civic engagement.

Throughout the year, nine disciplines are represented: football, tennis, judo, sailing, basketball, track and field, gymnastics, cycling, beach tennis, and finally, baseball, which is making its debut this year.
