The center of excellence and education through sport

Led by the Saint-Martin Center for Excellence and Education through Sport, this new Saint-Martin event offers courses for all levels on Galion Beach. Registration is now open for the first edition of the Sporty Challenge, taking place on the morning of Sunday, September 27.

The Saint-Martin Center for Excellence and Education through Sport (CEES) is preparing for the return of its student-athletes. There are 60 of them this year, and they will participate in the program's integration week from August 24 to 28. As the new school year approaches, the Center for Excellence and Education through Sport (CEES) is organizing an integration week from August 24 to 28, 2026, for the 60 student-athletes of the Territorial Sports Centers—a program funded by the Collectivity to support and train young athletes in Saint-Martin. The CEES is welcoming about twenty fewer students than last year. For this new year, it has now added baseball to further strengthen the diversity of sports offered to young talents. Their new academic and athletic year begins with these few days, during which the triple focus on academics, sports, and citizenship is already being put into practice.

Inspiring a love for sports, whatever your goal: that is the aim of the Sporty Challenge Saint-Martin, which will take place on Sunday, September 27, at the Galion site. This first edition is part of the European Week of Sport, an initiative led by the European Commission and held annually from September 23 to 30. Through the #BeActive campaign, this initiative encourages everyone to engage in physical and sporting activities, regardless of age, background, or fitness level.

Empowering young girls and helping them thrive in their sport is the core mission of the Women’s Basketball Training Center (CEFB). Established by the Northern Islands Territorial Basketball Committee (CTBIN) in partnership with the Center for Excellence and Education through Sport (CEES), this new program will welcome 18 middle schoolers and 3 high schoolers at the start of the next school year. Much like the Territorial Sports Centers (CST), the CEFB aims to help promising young athletes improve their skills while maintaining their academic progress and fostering independence and civic responsibility. Its unique feature: an all-female cohort.

Leading by example is the guiding principle that the 60 student-athletes of the Territorial Sports Centers (CST) will be expected to follow in the coming year. As the new school year approaches, the Center for Excellence and Education through Sport (CEES) is hosting an orientation week from August 24 to 28. An introductory meeting was held this Monday morning at Soualiga Middle School in La Savane. Attended by CEES Director General Charles-Henry Palvair and President Marc-Gerald Ménard, this session aimed to outline how the program works and define the year's objectives, while fostering dialogue with families regarding key challenges they will face, such as sleep, nutrition, and mobile phone usage.

On Saturday, June 27, the Center of Excellence and Education through Sport (CEES) celebrated young Saint-Martin athletes who distinguished themselves throughout the year at the "Rising Talents" ceremony held at the Grand Case Beach Club. In the presence of CEES Board President Marc Gérald Ménard, Acting Vice-Rector Fanny Giausseran, and Prefect Cyrille Le Vély, 18 student-athletes were honored for their achievements based on three criteria: academic excellence, athletic excellence, and civic excellence.
