CEES: Young Saint-Martin Athletes Discover Territorial Sports Centers at a Meeting

An information meeting dedicated to the CST (Territorial Sports Centers) program was held on Saturday, June 20th at 6 PM at the Grand Case Beach Club in Grand-Case.

Led by CEES, this tripartite program brings together young student-athletes, schools, and sports organizations to support the success of their triple academic, athletic, and socio-educational project.

Around thirty people attended this meeting, which provided an opportunity to present the support arrangements and to interact with prospective candidates for the next cohort, with enrollment planned for September 2027.

Future student-athletes and their families will have the opportunity to meet as early as August 24th at Soualiga College for the CST pre-orientation event, marking the beginning of the integration week designed to prepare them for their entry into the program.

CEES honors its student-athletes at the Rising Talents event

The Center of Excellence and Education through Sport (CEES) celebrated the young Saint-Martin athletes who distinguished themselves throughout the year at the "Rising Talents" ceremony on Saturday, June 27, at the Grand Case Beach Club. In the presence of CEES Board Chairman Marc Gérald Ménard, interim Vice-Rector Fanny Giausseran, and Prefect Cyrille Le Vély, 18 student-athletes were recognized for their achievements based on three criteria: academic excellence, athletic excellence, and civic excellence.

Rising Talents: A second edition rich in talent

First launched last year, the "Rising Talents" ceremony of the Center of Excellence through Education and Sport (CEES) recognizes young athletes. The second edition took place last Friday at the Grand Case Beach Club, beautifully concluding the sports season. 71 athletes – 15 girls and 56 boys – are supported by the CEES within the Territorial Sports Centers, which bring together young student-athletes, the National Education system, and sports organizations to assist them in their development. While all participants were in the spotlight across nine categories for the first edition, this year's event was held in a more restricted format. This choice was justified by CEES director, Charles-Henri Palvair, to reward the most deserving individuals – those who distinguished themselves through their academic, athletic, and civic excellence.

CEES student-athletes rewarded for their work and conduct

Le Centre d’excellence et d’éducation par le sport (CEES) a organisé, samedi 27 juin au Grand Case Beach Club, la deuxième édition de sa cérémonie « Rising Talents ». L’objectif : récompenser les élèves-athlètes qui se sont distingués tout au long de l’année sur les plans scolaire, sportif et citoyen. Vingt-cinq distinctions ont été remises à 19 jeunes issus des sept disciplines du CEES, qui accompagne aujourd’hui 71 élèves-athlètes. Le prix le plus attendu, celui de « major de promotion 2025-2026 », a été décerné au jeune cycliste Ashtan Benitez. Déjà récompensé pour ses résultats académiques, son comportement et ses performances sportives (vice-champion de la Caraïbe en U17 et champion de Guadeloupe U17), il a été salué pour son excellence dans les trois domaines.
